From Applied Research to Field-Tested Prototypes

ARCHI Avionics Research Group focuses on applied research and engineering development in avionics, RF communication and navigation, embedded control units, FPGA-based accelerators, and unmanned aerial systems.

How It Started

ARCHI Avionics Research Group emerged from applied avionics research activities initiated in 2017 within Istanbul Technical University’s aerospace research ecosystem. One of its early visible outputs, ARCHI-PILOT, was presented at the AIAA SciTech Forum 2023.

Who We Are

ARCHI Avionics operates within the ITU Aerospace Research Center ecosystem and is coordinated by Dr. Ramazan Yeniçeri. The group brings together researchers working on hardware, software, firmware, gateware, RF systems, sensor fusion, CFD and unmanned platform technologies. Its work focuses on designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and validating prototype-level aerospace systems and subsystems.

How We Work

ARCHI Avionics is open to university–industry collaborations structured through formal institutional mechanisms, including university project channels, technology transfer offices, technology development zone companies, and national or international research consortia such as TÜBİTAK and EU-funded projects. Each collaboration is shaped according to the project scope and carried out through the required official procedures and approvals.

Where We Are

We conduct our activities within an academic environment hosted and supported by the ITU Aerospace Research Center, an application and research center of Istanbul Technical University. All members of the group are affiliated with ITU as students, researchers, or academic staff. ARCHI Avionics is a research-group identity used to present the group’s academic, prototype-oriented, and collaborative work. Unless explicitly authorized through formal institutional procedures, the group does not represent ITU or ITU ARC, and its statements or activities do not create institutional commitments on their behalf.
